Driving the Dairy business Essay Example for Free

Driving the dairy farm business EssayIn the hold Driving the Dairy business, Howard assert that, this article focuses on the impact of unprecedented food inflation to bakery and dairy products in the U.S. It cites that recent price volatility render by a weak dollar, rising energy costs, consumer wariness, competitive pressure and other factors is making it hard to market staples like bakery and dairy items, generally fluid milk. According to the article, the weakening on the goodness in cheese and nonfat dry milk drives the prices for dairy in general. Application of the content to my concourse project A company profile of Saputo Inc., which is engaged in manufacturing and marketing of dairy products like milk, cream, sour cream, yogurt and cottage cheese, is presented. An overview of the company is given, along with fall upon facts including contact information, number of employees and revenues. Positive aspects of the articleIn the article , Howard use the specific numb ers and statistics to illustrate the worst food inflation in tight decades. Also , the author quote most famous person or the authority system said Dairy is a staple item that has been subjected to some record retail price points. That is now softening, which may be good news for the consumer. The flip side is that it will hurt the farmers in the short edge so we may see further attrition in the agricultural community because of that Missing items and pointsThe analysis of how to driving dairy business.Personal reflections on the articleAs the report noted, Smaller households are less likely to shop (a supermarket or convenience store) in-store bakery, in large part because they dont want to deal with foul up or spoilage from products that are too big for them to consume. As the categories in cheese and nonfat dry milk are weakened on the commodity side it ultimately drives the prices for dairy in general. If the larger stores like Costco, Wal-Mart and Price Chopper are moving p rices kill, overall market prices are moving down with them. A lot of the big storesthe club stores, the large supermarkets and the mass merchandiserswill move their milk price each month, sacking up or going down

Demographic Transition Models Essay Example for Free

Demographic Transition Models EssayThe Demographic Transition is a model that describes population change over age. As with altogether models, the demographic transition model has its applications and limitations.Applications The model describes population change over time and can be applied to many countries (based on the change in crude birth vagabond (CBR) and crude wipeout rate (CDR) over time) Can be used for comparison and also prediction from stages 1 to 4 Outline the population characteristics of societies at various stages of the development Population structures can be related to the model The model is often applied to lesser unquestionable countries to allay concerns regarding overpopulation, without proof that the underlying dynamics will allow these countries to trace similar evolution paths as the European and other Western countries. Limitations Birth judge in several MEDCs have fallen below death rates (Germany, Sweden). This has caused, for the first time, a population decline which suggests that perhaps the model should have a fifth stage added to it. However the model does non go beyond Stage 4. The model assumes that in time all countries pass through the aforesaid(prenominal) four stages. It now seems unlikely, however, that many LEDCs, curiously in Africa, will become industrialized External influences are not considered. The model assumes that the fall in the death rate in Stage 2 was the consequence of industrialisation.Initially, the death rate in many British cities rose, overdue to the unsanitary conditions which resulted from rapid urban growth, and it only(prenominal) began to fall after advances were made in medicine. The delayed fall in the death rate in many developing countries has been due mainly to their unfitness to afford medical facilities. In many countries, the fall in the birth rate in Stage 3 has been less rapid than the model suggests due to religious and/or political opposition to birth control (Brazil) , whereas the fall was much more rapid, and came earlier, in China where the government introduced the one child policy. The timescale of the model, especially in several south-east Asian countries such as Hong Kong and Malaysia, is being squashed as they develop at a much faster rate than did the early industrialised countries. The model assumes that all countries will go through the stages 1 to 4 in that exact order. There are variables and exceptions such as war and turmoil that may lead to different results. Some countries may even skip stages Eg. Countries that grew as a consequence of emigration from Europe (USA, Canada, Australia) did not pass through the early stages of the model. The model only reflects natural increase. Eg. There was a major migration overseas during a time period in the UK, where millions were fired had an effect on the population on its age structure and as a whole. The model does not forecast changes or provide explanations as to wherefore one stage might lead to the next. The DTM is also limited in the sense that it gives a generalized picture of population change over time based on European studies, assuming that all countries would follow suit.

Cockroaches and Hemolymph Concentration in the Body Essay Example for Free

Cockroaches and Hemolymph Concentration in the Body EssayThis lab was conducted to deter bite the closeness of hemolymph in the eubstance of a cockroach. It was done by fashioning consecutive dilutions to rush a standard graph by injecting a dye into a cockroach and determining the concentration at different multiplication with the use of a spectrophotometer to find the optical density which is measured in absorbance. Results showed that the concentration was non within the pre-experiment research range. Introduction Cockroaches as well as all early(a) insects get to an open circulatory system. Unlike humans who bugger off a closed circulatory system with arteries and veins, insects do not have any arteries or veins. They have a body of internal fluids and they use diffusion to transfer nutrients and oxygen across their bodies. This process of diffusion is only do possible because of their small bodies. In practical terms, cockroaches are cheaper than vertebrates, and s ince they are neither furry nor cuddly their use does not anger the animal-rights enthusiasts. In terms of political economy and public health, we need to know everything we can slightly insects because of their enormous impact on humans as crop pests, carriers of disease, pollinators, etc. But they also have a fascination in their own right. For instance, they represent the only other major group of animals that, with the higher vertebrates, have successfully conquered the quotidian habitat. Insects and mammals have a vastly different evolutionary heritage evolution has had to work with very different basic body plans to produce two highly successful terrestrial organism (Smith 119-139).Insects regulate their hemolymph volume by a variety of mechanisms including hormonal and metabolic factors. In an aquatic environment, insects must continuously excrete water to counteract for water uptake, whereas in a hot, dry terrestrial environment the insect must conserve water in both thes e instances, the volume of the hemolymph is regulated to continue excessive water gain or loss. In any given insect species, the volume of the hemolymph at any particular time during the life rack will tend to be fairly constant. However, stressing the insect, for example by exposure to very high temperatures or by starvation, will result in changes in the hemolymph volume. The Internal fluid in the insects body is termed Hemolymph it contains both blood and other fluids. The hemolymph is used to transfer nutrients, ions, and waste to different organs in the body. It also is used to defend against microorganisms that might attack the insects body. The Hemocoel houses the hemolymph where all the organs are located. My hypothesis was that the hemolymph in the insects body was about 20-40% of the body mass. Materials and Methods In order to find the cockroachs hemolymph volume, a small quantity of concentrated dye was injected which helped one to find how much the dye was diluted. A sp ectrophotometer was used to find the dye concentration needed in the cockroach. A spectrophotometer worked because dyes and other chemicals absorb light of characteristic wavelengths, and the amount of absorption depended on the concentration of the chemical.Knowing the original concentration and the final concentration it was to calculate what volume (the hemolymph volume) would have been necessary to dilute the dye that much. A range of volumes was chosen extending from rase the stairs to above the probable values for hemolymph volume you can produce a standard curve for optical density of dissolving agent on which you can demonstrate hemolymph volume directly. One advantage of this was that any errors in the procedure with the cockroach were likely to be similar to those for determining the standard curve, and they therefore canceled each other out.We started off by making serial solutions to make a standard curve for dye concentrations. We put 100, 200, 300 and 400 ul of a R inger solution mixed with 10 ul of dye. We then put 5 ul of the first tubes into tubes that had 2500 ul of Ringer solution using a pippete. We then measured the optical density (Absorbance) of our serial dilutions with a spectrophotometer at 522 nm. Then we graphed the data, we made it linear by doing 1/OD to get an equation for the line. The next thing we did is we anesthetized our cockroaches with CO2 and we weighed our cockroaches. We then injected 10 ul of dye into the abdomen of the insect. We waited until the dye was mixed in the hemolymph evenly then we took samples at different nouss in time at 5, 15 and 20 min in time. We injected next to the armpit of the leg and used cold capillaries to obtain our samples. We then used the spectrophotometer to measure the OD of the samples mixed with 2500 ul of ringer solution at the different time periods. We then plotted the data and obtained theequation. Then we plugged the reciprocal of y intercept to the equation and found the x valu e which equals the volume. This is a graph illustration of time(seconds) Versus optical density Discussion After the lab was done, my original hypothesis was rejected. I predicted that the cockroach would have 20-40% hemolymph concentration. This turned out to be incorrect. Our cockroach had a percentage of approximately 15%. The result is not far from the 20% range I predicted nevertheless, not specifically accurate at all. According to my prior research, an average hemolypmh is around 25 percent and makes up about 20% of the body weigh of the cockroach.According to this research, my hypothesis was correct about the concentration of hemolyph (Czpla 171-181) There is always some variation within experiments so something that was done during the experiment possibly could have gone wrong. The variation could have been collectible to the lack of following the specific time or variables. It was most likely due to a human error, which my group possible overlooked. There could have been m ishandling of the specialize equipment such as the pipette or the spectrometer. It is really easy to mishandle the pipet and can result in the wrong amounts of water used for the experiment. This could ask the optical density and result in excess data. Some of the equipment was old and not always properly and fully amoural. In a good preparation, the troika data points for optical density (OD) will lie approximately on an exponentially declining curve (dye excretion rate may be a function of dye concentration). The extrapolation back to zero time should therefore follow this curve.Often, however, the first point will be noticeably high or low compared to the line of the later points. This is probably due to poor mixing, either because of poor circulation, or poor injection where the dye sometimes appears to be trapped close to the point of injection. In this case, the best that can be done is to extrapolate from the later points, which, since there are only two points, will have to be a linear extrapolation. My results were in an exponentially declining curve so,I can not relate any error due to the mixing.A factor, which should be discussed because it couldve provided some potential errors, is the remotion of hemolymph from the cockroach during the 30-minute sampling period. This could have reduced the hemolymph volume. The error becomes progressively larger as the 5 l samples are removed. If mixing is incomplete, the OD may seemingly increase. Another possible source of error is the distribution of the dye, that is, how long does it take for the dye to be distributed uniformly throughout the hemolymph? This could have been a potential error, it is something I remember happening during the experiment though I did not realize the implications of it at the time. As time goes by, the Optical Density in the samples taken goes down in value. That shows that the dye within the body of the cockroach is getting transferred outside of the body of the insect. The H emolymph concentration in this cockroach is . 2/1. 3= 15% that is not within the range of the concentration that should be which is within the range of 20-40%.There might have been an error in the spectrophotometer or maybe the dye didnt spread well enough within the body, which would ruin our results. The sex of the cockroach might also play a role on the concentration of Hemolymph. For the future, if I were to carry out the same experiment I would stick to my prediction but would be more careful in carrying out the experiment. I would make sure I carried out the experiment exactly right.

Essentials of Tourism and Hospitality Operations

Essentials of Tourism and cordial reception OperationsAssignment title Essentials of touristry and cordial reception operationsIntroductionThe dynamism around the world has m whatsoever reasons. Tourism organizations atomic desc terminal 18 kit and caboodle in order to use up exclusively corners of the world undemanding to visit. The globalization as defined by Scholte J. (2000),A world wide process of spreading objects and experiences to people at all the corners of the earth (e.g. spreading computing, television, etc.), eliminate the tourism to merge. A hotel is an organization that plays a major role in the tourism and hospitality operations. It has several surgical incisions with specific roles. Examples of these are Front office, food and beverage, housekeeping, sustainment and security. All these departments work together, for the thickening to have a unassailable stay. This team work contributes to make more profit for the hotel. States Huyssten et al (2001)This fitting is focus on the comportment office and housekeeping and based on researches from different writers and the zest hunting lodge hotel. Pepper club is a five star hotel located into pallium townsfolk on 167, loop street. Pepper club has 210 bedrooms, a fitness room, an Odeon cinema, a bar called paparazzi, a restaurant called Sinatra, penthouse with swimming jackpot. Pepper club hotel is not far from the wonderful table mountain. Their future plans are to develop all the sectors of the hotel. Hassanien et al (2010) recommends that a hotel should consider updating facilities and all the sectors of the hotel. The front officeThe front office is the front of the house. This is the department that welcomes the node and helps him for checking in and out. The front office manager is responsible of all the activities in the front office and for training all the workers in this department. In order to maintain the standard, he has to make sure of selecting good personnel, easy t o be trained and quick learners. This people should work with last manners and behaviors in a professionalism way. Gillespie (2007). Many utilitys are organized in the front office, such as reception, switchboard, reservation, concierge, potter, casher and thickening relation. The same, as listed, at spice up club, these are the services organized in front office. nevertheless at pour club, the potter is workings under the concierge and it is called concierge and pottering.ReceptionA receptionist is the person who is manipulation guests check-in and freehand him information closely the entire department in the hotel. A well-functioning reception gives the guest a good film of the hotel. This helps to establish the hotels image and reputation, as well as to encourage the guest to re subroutine in the future.page107, Baker et al (1994). Being the for the first time person to meet the guests on checking in or when he/she walks in for any information, the receptionist should be able to give a good impression to the guest with a nice smile, a t whiz of voice, though the first impression last. Baker et al (1998)At pepper club, the reception is the first service to act with the guest when arriving at the hotel. The main duties are welcoming and checking-in of a new comer, selling the facilities of the hotel, providing guest information for otherwise services of the front office and other departments of the hotel. For a group arrival, at pepper club, the reception has to prepare documentations that entrust be required by the guests. Envelopes are prepared with letters inside to beg off facilities to the guests in the language they understandSwitch boardAs similar to Kappa et al (1997), this is the controller of the calls from outside and sends them to the relevant department or room. The person working here should be able to listen and speak clearly to the phone and have a good telephone manner. At pepper club, the switchboard does the same. But it als o help in switching calls from one service or department to another, in case, if the caller does not know the number of the relevant service or department.ReservationIn the same humor with Henning, R. (2003), there are many ways of doing reservation. This finish be done through internet (web site, e-mail, twitter, search book), telephone, fax, walk in.As we advertise the hotel we must be able to handle with reservations in any way that it comes to us. There for we should have trained personnel who end professionally handle it. According to Gillespie (2007), all the workers should behave professionally when doing their duties. There are procedures to follow to make a reservation, and these are the same for e rattlingone. There are not special enquiries for any reservation. It is very imperative to have a reservation chart so we impart not keep the guest waitingwhile we are busy looking for information to give him. The most important administrative document is the reservation cha rt. Henning, R. (2003) This should be examine to stop if there are available rooms.Taylor, M. et al (1999) identifies two ways of making reservation, as follow-Advance reservationAt pepper club the person working in this area makes bookings, deal with agencies and writes queries. In planning and preparing the guests needs, the advance reservation is preferable, because it gives you more time to do so. This idea is also back up by Taylor et al (1999).The reservation in advance is better because nothing exit be in rush, you know already about the guest arrival and you expect him to arrive. If it comes that you find out about the reason of the guests trip, you depart be able to prepare decoration for such event. For example a booking for a honey moon, I will organize a decor according to the event.-same day reservationThis kind of reservation should be handled with lot of care. States Whyte, S.(2006), some tourists arrive in town with nowhere to sleep and start to look for accomm odation, calling here and there. A guest, who calls for same day reservation, should pay in advance and his referral source and preferences should be recorded. The person whos doing reservation uses two types of reservation system. At pepper club they use the electronic system and the manual(a) system. The electronic system used at pepper club is opera system, for any reservation on line. The manual system used at pepper club is the reservation chat. Hunters, G. et al (2010) states, An operation system of reservation enquiries tracks availability and rates and provide management and supervisors with essential reports. page 369Check-in and out This will be explained according to the pepper clubs way. After arriving and entering inside the building, the guest has to present his/her passport. A registration card recorder will be given to him to fill up (home address, mobile number, etc) and the receptionist will make a copy of it. After that he signs and binds himself to the rules of the hotel. The receptionist will ask the guests credit card for the credit card authorization for any extras or incident that can buy the farm during his stay. The guest will always be accompany to his room, by an associate. He will receive a call, from reception within 20 minutes of arrival. No guest will ever be roomed in unmake accommodation. Should there be early arrivals that cannot be accommodate immediately, areas will be arranged with coffee, tea, Danish, newspaper and the availability of telephones/email for the guest in the mess about area. On checking out all the bills will be printed and presented to the guest. If there is any change to give to the guest that will be ready, for the guest will not have to wait. Everything should be done the night before the departure day of the guest. The potter will carry the luggage from the room to the car.ConciergeAt pepper club the concierge is focus on all guests services, he is responsible of all the potters. The concierge is lo cating the guest sites to visit, organizing transport, he also get all the deliveries for the guest from outside. Huyssten et al (2001) identifies that, the concierge is the person who links the guest to the outside services, such as tourism agencies. Being, in charge of the guest satisfaction, he consults to make itinerary.PotterAt pepper club, the potter is working under the concierge but having specific duties such as caring the luggage for the guest to and from the room. Rooming the guest when he checks- in. Huyssten et al (2001) buy at this idea saying, when the guest is checking out, the potter has to make sure that the guest did not forget anything behind and he should check the room if there is any defile and report to the reception. If the guest booked the hotels car, the potter is the one who will be in charge to go with the car and the guest from the airport.CashieringAt pepper club, the cashier is dealing with all the cash in the hotel. He also deal with end of shift, b alance the total cash, credit card transaction and foreign currency. Huyssten et al (2001) share the same idea with pepper club, saying that, he closes the specific minutes taken for the day and get generally get checked to see it balances. lymph node relationAt pepper club, the guest relation is the guest assistance provider. He gets closer to the guest, provides assistance for him, sold guests problems and make the guest feel promiscuous offering him personal service. Denney et al (2007) says, to provide assistance he has to know the guests preference, request, there for, programs can be designed, where by all guests requests, preference, will be logged. The linkThe link between the front office and other department is to make from each one department aware about what is happening or what is going to happen about the guests need, concern and what he expect from the hotel. Because each department has got responsibilities, for the guest to have a good stay. The food and beverage for example, has to know about the arrival to prepare food and drink according to the number and preference if there is any. The room service should also be kept in touch, for the guest can request any service in the room. If it is about fixing anything the maintenance should be aware. Huyssten et al (2001) identifies that, the front office is the link between the guest and all the departments.Guest cycleThe front office department has got large responsibilities to support guests services. There for the front office operations are largely defined by the type and number of transactions made during different stages of the guests stay. As mentioned by Baker et al (1994), a typical stay will be divided into 4 stages pre-arrival, arrival, occupancy and departure. At pepper club the guest cycle is considered as the guest journey through the hotel, from the reservation (pre-arrival), arrival (check-in), occupancy (enjoying), to departure (check-out).Agreeing with 4 phases of the guest cycle , but after departure, still the hotel will follow up to know about the feedback. Did he enjoy his stay in our hotel? I will suggest a fifth phase which is the feedback. Methods of paymentThe method of payment is the way which the guest handles his payment through. There are different methods of payment. Each guest has his way of payment which is easy or possible for him. Some of these methods are cash, credit cards, travelers cheques, cheques, credit facilities, travel agency voucher. Huyssten et al (2001)This applies also at pepper club, this methods of payment are experienced in the same way.Daily bankingAccording to the pepper club way, all charges, postings, payments dealt with during the shift must balance with opera. At the end of the day, the audit casher closes the baking but before that he/she has to check all the balances on opera.HousekeepingKeeping the house is to maintain it in a good state. The housekeeping plays a major role to develop the economy of the hotel. By kee ping the establishment and all the piece of furniture dissipated, the housekeeping saves as many cost as possible. Branson, Lennox (1998)Role of the housekeepingThe role is basically, modify and maintaining the standard. Make sure that all the public areas are clean. Branson, Lennox (1998) states, in any establishment, the housekeeping is the department that works to make people feel comfortable staying in the building. At pepper club the housekeeping should service daily the suites, during late morning and early good afternoon or at the guest convenience. Essential high property toiletries will be provided and the turn down service will be prepare in the early evening. An overnight washables service will be also offered. A daily pre-shift meeting will be held by the executive housekeeper. This will cover the previous days inspections, cleaning procedures, wearing of uniforms and guest relations.FurnitureAs the hotel is receiving guests from different background, countries and c ultural traditions, each guest should be comfortable to stay in our hotel. Henning et al (1999) states that, furnishing should look comfortable and welcoming, so that guests can feel that they can relax there. Use as much upholstered furniture as possible. All furniture should be according to the standard of the hotel and the status of the room where the item will be used. I agree with Branson, Lennox (1998) saying, it will be very important that the item should be easily movable.CleanlinessCleaning is to maintain the good state of the house hygienically and by appearance. Cleaning keeps the house and all the furniture against deterioration. For all the linen used in different sectors in the hotel, the housekeeping is responsible of keeping them clean and ready to be used. In the same idea with Branson, Lennox (1998), kitchen, bar, restaurant, banqueting, etc, the supervisor or manager of these relevant sectors should keep a happy atmosphere between him and the housekeeper to ensure that all the linens are exchanged on time. What happen at pepper club is the suites will be serviced daily, during late morning and early afternoon or at the guest convenience. Essential high quality toiletries will be provided and the turn down service will be prepare in the early evening. The hotel will also offer an overnight laundry service.*TurndownAll suites must be serviced nightly bed turned down with sheet folded, on the entry side, at a 450angle. Curtains closed, one or two lamp turned one according to the procedure. Room attendant to replace all dirty towels with clean ones, toilet articles rearranged, toilet papers refolded. Bath to be cleaned, friction towels placed on floor at each bedside, gowns and good night amenity placed at bedside, any loose clothing or shoes should neatly folded and hung in closet, fresh ice should be brought in and placed in room with mineral water and fresh lemon slice. The turn down service will not start before 700 pm.*laundry and valetAs an extra added service to the hotel, pressing is to be made available throughout the day. This service is available seven days a week with the quickest possible return. As a guest will be taken to his/her suite on arrival, the associate will ask if there is any immediate pressing to be done and take some to the valet.Guest pressing will be done immediately. Suits and dresses are to be returned in wicker baskets with a paper inlay.*Public rest roomsThey must be checked every 15 minutes by the public areas attendant, as the hotel is also judged by the rest rooms. Both hand cloths and paper cloths will be provided.*Pool proceduresThe medical intern will arrange and rearrange, however necessary, throughout the day, the pool area as uniform as possible. He will clean the pool before it opens in the morning and at the close in the evening. The pool area will be policed during the day for cigarette butts, paper container, etc. The houseman will arrange lounge chairs for guests and ensure ne cessary towels are available. At night he will leave the pool deck thoroughly clean and rearrange the furniture as per standard set-up. Magazines, lotions, tanning oils, sunglasses, baseball caps with logo will be available for sale.InspectionTo inspect is to control if the level of the cleaning performance reaches the standard. Though a cleaning schedule should be designed to specify who is doing what, when and how. For Henning (2007), the supervisor or the executive housekeeper will check-up to appreciate or reclaim if necessary.SecurityTo secure is to keep out of danger. In a hotel, it is very important for all the staff to mind the security, as it is not only one persons matter. Danger could come from any sector, so everyone working in the hotel should be able to report suspicious movement or any hazard around the building. Security is not the prerogative of any one person in an establishment Staff should realized the necessity of not giving information regarding internal matte rs.page54 Branson, Lennox (1998)ConclusionEconomic, politic, religious, social, cultural, etc, these may be reason of the dynamism around the world. Spreading objects and experiences to people at all the corners of the world, makes people move around. Our assignment was showing a good welcoming procedures, to people visiting our place. From different writers and the pepper club hotel, we can understand the major role of the hotel within tourism and hospitality operations. One of its departments was subject of our studies. We are so glad finishing explaining and describing the front office and housekeeping and their role within a hotel. We are nifty full to the pepper club hotel staff for their assistance which was very helpful. It could be difficult for us to complete this assignment without their help. All the ideas in this assignment did not come from us, the books we red from different writers were also very helpful.References-Baker, S., Bradley, P. and Huyton, J. Sonnys Blue And Everyday Use

lads Blue And Everyday wasting diseaseYou will never express that these two stories atomic number 18 only mundane snitch of ink. Reading these stories, you understand things you down never thought ab protrude before. However, what do multitude think? Did altogether of them recognize the same these authors did? Each of us should answer this question by own. Years passed but plays, novels on the theme, which James Baldwin Alice Walker talked about, are still writing, and films are still shooting, why? There are things, which we remember, and things, which we cannot forget. Whether this is good or bad is up for opinion. There are some of the most interesting and touching stories, I have ever read. Making my way through long lines of bookshelves in the library these two books caught my eye Sonnys Blue by James Baldwin and Everyday practice session by Alice Walker. After reading them, I understood how good they are for arguing about. All standpoints about these books are contrad ictory and varied. Nevertheless, you should read these novels to understand and desexualise what place do they occur in your life. I did. Moreover, I must admit that, they are by all odds not just another mundane waste of ink, whatever they can be said to be. However, these stories are believed to be unique, talented and ubiquitous. They are worth of attention, as I will prove it through this paper. So, allow me begin to explain.Main questionIn two stories Sonnys Blue by James Baldwin and Everyday Use by Alice Walker, the authors explore sibling relationships, demonstrating how siblings may bump both love and conflict toward each other. The master(prenominal) mission of the paper is to discuss and dismember the relationships between siblings in these two stories and to explain how conflicts are terminate or not. When I finished reading these two stories, words and snatches of conversations echoed around my head, so I could not sleep. I decided to read them and analyze in orde r not to be lost in thoughts. This at first glance frantic idea appeared to be overwhelming. All points of view about these books are contradictory and varied. I must admit that Sonnys Blue by James Baldwin as well as Everyday Use by Alice Walker influenced me a lot. These stories are two mysterious worlds, they can be judged or understood, but never wiped off. Creations of its authors, novels include feelings, words, and dearest moments. To sum up, reading these novels is not mortifying thing, it is not just wasting the time. Anyway, they exist and it is nothing to do.It is mentioned in the source that Sonnys Blue (that was written in 1957 by James Baldwin) opens with the teller, who reads about his brother named Sonny who was caught in a heroin bust. However, he cannot get his mind off Sonny. Sonny is related to the narrator they are brothers. They keep in contact, and after Sonny gets out of jail, he goes to live with the narrator and his family. They eat a family dinner, which then turns into a flashback about their parents (2010, , pg 2). The relationships between relatives (for example brothers) are forever difficult and various. Not always conflicts between brothers could be resolved. Through the story two brothers (narrator and Sonny) are arguing and deciding are they brothers or not. They remember fathers and mothers death and even uncles. Then they have a conflict in interests, when Sonny claimed that he wants to become a pianist and a sleep with musician. As it is mentioned, they figure out his living system of rules for the remainder of his high school career. Sonny calls his brother ignorant for not knowing who Charlie Parker is, and argues that he does not want to finish high school or live at Isabels (a wife of narrator) parents house. Eventually, Isabels parents have a piano, which Sonny can play whenever he wants, provided he go to school (2010, , pg 2). During the entire story, two main heroes (brothers) argue and have a conflict. Eventu ally, in the end of story they have a conversation, where Sonny tells his brother about what he feels when his veins are filled with heroin. Sonny also mentions that he would not die in order to stop suffering (at least, he would not die earlier then anybody else would in this case). Finally, narrator accepts Sonny as a brother (even if he is a class of a drug addict), when he hears how beautiful and magical is Sonnys play in jazz club. The story ends that way.Another story called Everyday Use by Alice Walker. It is said that she illustrates the importance of understanding our present life in relation to the traditions of our own people and culture. Walker personifies the different sides of culture and inheritance in the characters of Dee and the mother (the narrator). Dee can be seen to represent a materialistic, complex, and modern way of life where culture and heritage are to be valued only for their trendy-ness and aesthetic appeal. Mother represents a way of life where culture and heritage are valued for both its avail as well as its personal significance (2003, pg 1, ). Thus, it must be mentioned that this story contains a conflict between two women (Dee and the mother). Main conflict in the story is that Dee struggle because of creating identity for herself. She wants to change her name. Moreover, her strict heritage can be defined as that of Afro Americans. The point is that Dee was named after her grandmother and aunt. It was a kind of tradition. Finally, through the story Walker illustrates readers that culture is neither name changes nor speaking a foreign tongue. Ones culture and heritage are taught, from one generation to the next, not suddenly picked up or acquired. A person who possesses real heritage and culture make use of it every day of their life (2003, pg 1, ).ConclusionIn conclusion, I must admit that both stories touch conflicts and problems that modern people face in their routine daily life very often. The value of these stories is definitely great in nowadays culture, because people can gain some experience from them and look for some answers for their questions. The main mission of the paper was to discuss and analyze the relationships between siblings in these two stories and to explain how conflicts are resolved or not. I believe mission is completed. Sonnys Blue by James Baldwin and Everyday Use by Alice Walker are obviously talented and useful stories in our fast moving contemporary world.

Main Objectives of Training in Employment

Main Objectives of schooling in EmploymentThe cooking, victimization and education of employees at altogether level of hierarchy in an organization atomic number 18 considered as an essential tool in maintaining competitiveness in the international arna. The chance for workplace tuition to improve several(prenominal) and organizational carry throughance has been acknowledged for a very long time. knowledge is a fundamental comp integritynt in helping to resolve major organizational or counselling problem. grooming is an rarified steering to assume a line of credit. Today, Management of the skills of the workforce is an essential aspect of doing business, and employee development go away likely grow in the future (Noe, 1999). The take ins of employee development flesh out beyond the actual skills gained and their contribution to an individual(a)s productivity (Benson, 2002).Training is the use of systematic and planned instruction activities to promote eruditeness. This advent quarter be summarized in the set phrase learner-based genteelness. (Armstrong, 2001)Training has an opposite role to play in accelerating learnedness that is, reading should be reserved in circumstances justifying a more(prenominal) directed expert-led approach instead of viewing raising as a comprehensive and all-pervasive solution for the development of the people. (Reynolds, 2004)2.1. LearningLearning is defined as a method of adjoin an individuals power to stool action. (Kim, 1993)The definitive aim of teaching policies and programs of any cheek is to make provision of skilled, knowledgeable and competent workforce necessary to meet inaugurate and prospective ask. (Armstrong, 2001)However, Reynolds et al (2000) explained that on that point is a need to make difference between learning and learn as learning is a process of getting new knowledge, skills and capabilities whilst genteelness is one of the actions an organisation jackpot take for the pr omotion of learning. Similarly, Sloman (2003a) distinguished between learning that lies at heart the domain of the individual and learning that lies deep down the domain of the organization.Today, The approach is to steering on the individual learning by ensuring that it happened when needed that is, just-for-you and just-in-time learning.2.2. Definition of TrainingIn General, Training is defined as a planned and systematic effort to modify or develop knowledge, skills and attitudes through learning experiences, to achieve effective proceeding in an activity or couch of activities. (Garavan et al., 1995 Harrison, 1993 Reid et al., 1994).The Manpower Services Commission (1981) described provision as a designed process aiming at the development of attitude, knowledge or skill behavior through the knowhow of learning in order to achieve practiceance in an activity or series of activities. The idea behind training in the accompaniment of the work is to increase the capabiliti es of an individual so as to satisfy the current and prospective needs of the organisation.Training is the systematic modification of behaviour through learning which occurs as a result of education, instruction, development and planned experience. (Armstrong, 1999)Decenzo and Robbins (1996) defined training as a learning experience that seeks a relatively permanent heighten in an individual that will improve the ability to perform on the job. As well, Decenzo and Robbins pointed out that training bring active changes in skills, knowledge, attitudes, or behaviour. legion(predicate) other definitions provided in literature lay emphasis on a current job focus. Being a very popular activity, it appear to scrape all the limits including on- the- job training, attain- the- job training , training to young employees , adult training, testis and informal training through work experience.Looking forward critically to the views on training concepts revealed the same thing in appearance what really differs is the alternative of words.2.3. Aim of TrainingThe central aim of training is to aid an organisation achieving its purpose by adding range to its key resources, that is, the people it employs. Consequently, to attain the overall effectiveness and efficiency of an organisation, it needs to invest in its people to enable them to perform better and to empower them to make the best use of their natural abilities.2.4. The three main objectives of Training pointed out by Armstrong (1999) are as followsTraining develops the ability of the employee to enhance their performance.Assist in the growth of the people in the organisation as far as possible, as such its future Human Resources stinkpot be met within the organisation,The learning time for employees starting new jobs on appointment, transfer or promotion are slightened and also tick that the last mentioned are totally competent as promptly and cost-effectively as possible.2.5. The need for training is justi fied in many waysLearning can take place through formal training asFormal instruction can develop the skill for the works requirements.Various skills are needed for the come up of employees which pass water to be developed quickly so as to meet new demands and cannot be obtain through relying on experience. In order to ensure that employees meet their responsibilities critical information need to be imparted.Common learning need has to be met, which can be dealt through training programs.2.6. The Systematic cash advance to trainingThe influential factors in conflict with the good performance of employees are the inadequacy of training. With simple recruitment, no seriously minded organisation can be staffed by employees having expertness and potentials in variety of discipline desired for the total functioning. Through, a systematic approach to training of the personnel on a endless basis connects the totality of the workforce towards higher productivity in the organisation. The M anpower Services Commission (1981, p.59) defined systematic training as training undertaken on a planned basis as a result of applying a logical series of steps. In practice, the number and description of these steps tends to vary, but in general terms they would cover such aspects as the development of training policy, identification of training needs, development of training objectives and plans, implementation of planned training and validation, rating and review of training.Typically, the systematic mock up consists of 5 components digest of training needs, design of training curriculum, development of training curriculum, implementation or delivery and finally the military rating. (Carnevale et al, 1990).2.7. Models of Training2.7.1. ADDIE modelThe most customarys conceptual model for systematic training is the ADDIE model. The ADDIE model presents a systematic process for determining training needs, the design and development of training programs and materials, implementa tion of the program, and rating of the effectiveness of the training (Gagne et al, 2005).The ADDIE model has been evolved through written or oral tradition both formally and informally (Molenda, 2003). common fig tree 1-ADDIE Model Phases, System Functions, and Quality ImprovementSource Department of the Air Force (2001)Note ADDIE = analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate. The ADDIE illustrated above is one of the revised model. The model shows thatEvaluation is the focus of the ADDIE process.ADDIE is a continuous process with flexibility to enter and reenter various phases when necessary so as to develop, update or revise instruction. The ADDIE activities take place within and are dependent on system functions.Cooperation is necessary among personnel performing in the system function and those who design develop and implement instructional systems. every last(predicate) activities and system function is based on continuous onward motion for the overall system. The entire pr ocess of this model is the ADDIE model takes place with the sphere of Quality improvement. ADDIE depends on the mission and job depth psychology for required data in order to design, develop and implement instruction. There are more than 100 different variations of the model however, almost all of them reflect the generic ADDIE process.2.8. Performance improvement focus ModelsThere are ordinarily three models related to training for performance improvement. The quest three models, performance-based instruction, training for performance system, and training for collision, take a performance improvement focus. They each work from the assumption that it is unlikely that training by itself will improve individual or organizational performance. These models emphasize the analysis and evaluation phases and their connection to the host organizationThe performance-base instructionTraining for performance systemTraining for shock absorber. However, these three models work on the assumption that training by itself would not improve the performance of employee or the organisation as emphasize must be on the analysis and evaluation phase.2.8.1.The performance-base instruction ModelPerformance-base instruction (PBI) model was developed by Dale Brethower and Karolyn Smalley in 1998. The PBI model was specially designed to add value to individuals and organizations performance through which the gap between the novice and the excellent performance is reduced. Holton et al (2000) stated that the model is learner and organisation centered and seeing that thither is an improvement in performance, it hereby adds value to the organization.Figure 2-Performance-Based InstructionSource Brethower and Smalley (1998).The benefit of this systematic training approach is to enhance the high ratio of benefit to the high ratio of cost as it uses a systematic and efficient development process.Brethower and Smalley (1998) pointed out the application of the PBI model is put into practice thro ugh(1) channelize observation,(2) Guided practice,(3) Demonstration of mastery.2.8.2. Training for performance systemThe Training for performance system (TPS) model was initially developed by Ric securely A. Swason in 1978 which have arrive with the composition of the ADDIE model as discussed previously and soly have expand one each phase to mitigate rigidity and shortcomings.Swason(2002) defined the TPS as a process for the development of human expertise for the purpose of improving individual, organizational and process performance. unremarkably, the TPS analyzes the requirement for basic organisational performance and also deal with the development of the expertise in the field of knowledge work and system work.Figure 3 Training for Performance System, Source Swanson (2002).TPS give rise to a systematic training model with the potential to produce outstanding outcomes in the training environs for all content. Thus this is accomplished in 2 waysThe traditional 5 phases of t raining is supported by a solid leadership function. The basis of leadership includes the tasks ofChampioning the training and development mission and goals of training,Managing the training and development process,Ensuring the continuous improvement of the process. Each phase is divided into two specific steps which further describe the major processes that make up the phase which is backed up by a an easy-to-use support system for every step. The analysis phases (Swanson, 1996) and the evaluation phase (Swanson, 1996 Swanson Holton, 1999) in the TPS model is emphasis as being the key to achievement.2.8.3. Training for trespass modelThis model links training with the specific goal of an organization. That is, the need that drives the request for training is identified in the organization. This model helps the trainer to document their training efforts. The Training for impact model states a mandatory need assessment. That is, the business result expected to take place from the impro vements are recognized on the introductory end. This model helps the Human Resource Development (HRD) professional to focus on the requirement and delivery for the improvement in skills and knowledge whereas, management to focus on the needs required in the working environment to support new skills or knowledge. Then, the results must be measured. (Cowell et al, 2006).Figure 4-Training for impactSource Robinson and Robinson (1989).Robinson and Robinson (1989) outlined 12 steps of progression through the Training-for-impact model. whole tone 1 grade business need and client This means that training should help in maximizing opportunities, and thus be more projects driven than curriculum base.Step 2 Form a collaborative relationship with client the learning experience and work environment us examined.Step 3 conduct initial project meeting This is a key step in the training process.Step 4 discharge Performance effectiveness assessment Front-end assessment is mandatory as it identifie s. What gap exists? What should be? What should not be? What is the difference between the two?Step 5 Conduct cause analysis In this step the cause of the gap that exists should be identified.Steps 6 and 7 tabulate, control and report results to the client the HRD music director must present the result in a way to encourage management to take expected action.Step 8 design the reaction and learning evaluation system In this step, the reaction evaluation that is, receiving information from participant and learning evaluation that is, assessment of the degree of skill and knowledge which have been learn should be designed.Step 9 design tracking system The behavioural, non-observable and operational results should be identified clearly and must be specific to allow measurement.Step 10 conduct training maximum impact to the organisation is assured because of the time and efforts devoted in the need assessment.Step 11 collect, tabulate and interpret evaluation and tracking data comparis on of the date collected with the base data for evaluation of outcome evidence.Step 12 report to the client the results from all evaluation with emphasis on tracking studies should be reported. Clients will assist with evaluation and follow up actions.2.9. The Systematic training process2.9.1. Training needs analysisThe analysis phase was originally based on the understanding that training was needed and that analyzing the content was the starting point.Goldstein (1986) described needs assessment as an effort to analyse and diagnose the organization, task and person, to determine if a cure is necessary and what cure is most likely to produce the desired results. Needs analysis is a systematic attempt to identify current and future organizational problems. (Anderson, 1993 Roscoe, 1995). Training need analysis is a process of determining what ought to be (goals) and assessing the come in of discrepancy between what ought to be and what actually is (needs). (Briggs, Gustafson and Till man, 1991).The purpose of a training needs analysis is to close the gap between the actual and desired situations by determining discrepancies in outcomes, placing them in order of priority and selecting the most alpha for closure or reduction. (Rothwell and Kazanas, 1998).It is of the essence(predicate) to carry out training needs analysis before organizing any training activities as it guaranteed the mastery of the activities. The analysis ensures synergy among the learning need of individual and quest for effectiveness, job performance and strategic organisational development. (Potter et al., 2003)Normally the TNA refers to the process of examining needs for training in order to determine how they might actually be met. It attempt to define gaps between what people know and can do and what they should know and be able to do.To gain a important analysis, it is crucial to use the system approach. Following certain steps will be beneficial as it provide direction and focus in th e process. As such, it provides a framework within which to work and to report results to management. The steps that are normally used to analyse training needs are as followsStep 1 Perform a gap analysisStep 2 Identify priorities and importanceStep 3 Identify causes of performance problems and/or opportunitiesStep 4 Identify possible solutions and growth opportunitiesStep 5 Present your findingsA Training Needs Assessment is normally conducted so as to determine what the actual performance problem(s) is (are) (Rossett, 1999). However, in some cases, a problem is not referable to the of lack in instruction but to deficiencies within the job structure or environment (Clark, 1999).2.9.2. Designing the training programThe next step consists of design the training program. It is imperative for organisations to realize while designing the program that is equally important to consider what trainees should know or be able to do afterwards the training is complete. One thing that should be considered before designing the training program us what the program is to accomplish, that is the objectives. Without knowing what the program is to accomplish it is very challenging to design the program.2.9.2.1. Determining training objectives and training planAfter the need analysis, it becomes easier to establish training objectives and to determine what the learners must be able to perform after the training program. However, Mckenna and Beech (2002) stated the importance for a sound basis to be established for other elements of Human Resource Management practice such as performance management, reward management combined with training and development. That is, training and development itself cannot help in the total development of employee without the complement of appraisal and motivation.2.9.2.2. specify the contentOnce, attainable and measurable objectives have been set, it is crucial to determine the content. This can be either a complete training program or ne task onl y. In the content details of the course content and time, resources required, method of training, who should do the training and who should be trained information should be available.2.9.2.3. Implementing trainingThe success of the training program totally depends on how well it is implemented. The establishment of a suitable learning environment is one of the most important elements determining the success of the training provided. There should be the right provision for the availability of training facilities as such trainers will be able to gain the interest of the audience, increase understanding and participation. The method of training used is normally based on the identified needs, training objectives, an understanding on part of the trainees, resources available and the awareness of the learning principle. The most popular training and development techniques used by organizations can be classified as either on the job training and off the job training. (DeCouza et al, 1996)On the job trainingThis is the most widely use method of training as it is simple and less costly to operate. It is normally conducted at the work site and in context of the actual job. Here, in that location is a close collaboration between the trainer and learner. There are 3 common methods used for on the job training are learning by doing, mentoring, and shadowing and job rotation.Off the job trainingOff the job training involves employees taking training course away from their place of work. It might also be provided by the organsation training department or by external providers. The training methods areLecturesDemonstrationRole playCase studyDemonstration2.9.3. Evaluation of training programA review of literature on evaluation of training was conducted to identify methods of effectiveness evaluation for training programs. Upon checking the effectiveness of training, Kenny et al (1992) stated that both during and after the completion of the training, it must be reviewed by traini ng officers, the line manager and if required by the trainee also. Evaluation helps to measure the cost benefits of the training program not only based on the achievement of its rigid down objectives.Phillips (1991) defined evaluation as a systematic process to determine the worth, value, or meaning of something whereas, Holli and Calabrese (1998) defined evaluation as contrast of an discovered value or a standard feeling or criteria of comparison. Therefore, Evaluation is the process of forming value decision about the quality of programs, products, and goals.2.9.3.1. Methods of training effectiveness evaluationTraining can be evaluated in several ways. Beardwell and Holden (1993) have cited some of these methods as followsQuestionnaires this is the most common approach of obtaining responses about the training program from the trainee.Tests An important evaluation program for measuring learning. This help to show the change in skills, knowledge or ability of the trainee attri bute from the program. These are common on formal courses.Structured exercises this provides the opportunities to apply the learned skills and techniques under observation of evaluators.Interviews this is a direct way of gathering information from trainees. This can be formal and informal individual or group, face to face or by telephone.2.9.3.2. Approaches to evaluation of trainingUpon the definition of evaluation, the Kirkpatrick Model was the most commonly reported model. Phillips (1991) pointed out that the Kirkpatrick Model was one of the most well known frameworks for the classification of evaluation areas. This was confirmed by America Society for Training and Development (ASTD) in 1997 when carrying a survey on human resource development.2.9.2.3. The Kirkpatrick Model take aim one reactionLevel two LearningLevel three BehaviorLevel 4 ResultsLevel one ReactionNormally, stakeholder reactions provide useful insight into factors that contribute to learner motivation and sa tisfaction but do not directly measure training results. Typically, reaction data includes the learn ability data collected from trainees and teach ability data collected from trainers.Level 2 LearningThe determination of the learning gain is an essential measure. Did the training programs achieve its objectives? Have the trainees mastered the knowledge, skills and attitudes at which the training was directed? If the training does not result in learning, training has no value to an organization. However, there are ample evidences that learning from training is often quickly lost or not transferred to the job in a way that improves employee performance. Therefore, measuring learning alone does not provide adequate evidence of trainings value to the organisation. (Collins, 2002 Dionne, 1996).Level 3 BehaviourIt is argued the trainee work performance is the most meaningful and critical factor in judging the training effectiveness. That is, it determines the extent to which changes in b ehaviour and job performance have occurred as a result of the training event and also involves both the employees and managers evaluation of changes in job related activities.Level 4 ResultsFinally, the impact of the training event on the organisation performance is measures as it is views as many or equals to more important than individuals work performance. However, organisational performance can only be achieved through individual performance.2.10.Training and Employees PerformanceOverviewThe quality of the workforce and their development through training are key factors in determining long term profitability and the optimum performance of organisations. Therefore, to hire and arrest quality employees, it is crucial to invest in their development of their skills, knowledge and abilities so that the individual and eventually the organizations performance can increase. Traditionally, training is given to new employees only. However, this is a mistake as ongoing training for existi ng employees helps them to adjust to changing job requirement quickly.Figure 5-Bramleys individual model of trainingSource colored et al(2005)The model in general assumes that employee knowledge, skills and attitudes will change by the adoption of a training program however, this does not always end in that way. If the employee believes, there is an improvement in his knowledge and skills then it may be safe to also assume that, there will be an increase in the persons individual performance. Through training the persons competencies will be reinforced and will enable him or her to execute the tasks assigned effectively and efficiently. As a result, according to the model, there will be an increase in the overall performance of the organization.Nevertheless, individual job performance is also influenced by the culture and the structure of the organization, by the job design, the reward systems used to motivate employees and the power and politics that exist in the organization and the group processes. Individuals may not achieve their goals and thus not perform well, due to problems associated with the reasons above and not necessarily due to lack of skills.Wright and Geroy (2001), argued to ensure training effectiveness, certain issues must be taken into account. Management style may need to change and training also, has to fit with the culture of the organization. Some companies may offer training programs that, the organization itself is not prepared to accept the ensuing changes. Besides, Eisenberger et al. (1986) proposed that employees are more likely to become committed to an organization, if they believe that the organization is committed to them and management should make efforts to create a positive work environment. Managers, also have the responsibility, to ascertain which factors inhibit effectiveness and make the appropriate decisions, to ameliorate the situation (Swart et al., 2005).Although in theory training seems to increase organizational p erformance, in actuality the evidence for such a claim is scant. Bartel (1994), in a survey2.11. Performance ManagementDefinition of performance managementFisher et al (2003) defined performance management as the integration of performance appraisal systems with broader human resource systems as a means of aligning employees work behaviors with organizational goals. Performance management should be an ongoing, interactive process that is designed to enhance employee capability and facilitate productivity.2.11.1 Criteria for assessing employees performanceProductivityProductivity can be said to be the raison dtre of management. accord to Armstrong (1999) productivity represents the output of goods and services that can be obtained from a given input of employees. The sources of productivity gains includes (Schiller, 2002)Higher skills- increase in the skills of labourMore capital- An increase in the ratio of capital to laborImproved management- better use of available resources in th e process.Technological advancement- development and use of better capital equipment.Training leads to the development of higher skill and thus impacts on employee performance. The focus is that employee will not perform better at work no matter how hard they try and regardless of how they want until they know what they are supposed to do and how they are supposed to do it (Zaccarelli, 1997). Productivity is one of the most important elements for assessing employee performance. motive and Job SatisfactionJob satisfaction refers to an employees overall assessment of his or her work and work-related experiences, which is influenced by an individuals values, ideals and belief.( Baron, 1976 Chan et al., 2004). Research has been reporting job satisfaction as an important predictor of several critical negative and positive work outcomes. Job satisfaction is a very important motivator for employees performance and has been found to mutually relate to turnover.(Mak and Sockel, 1999 Rust et al., 1996). On the other hand, the offering talented employees training to retain them on their current job function and allowing them to learn to new skills can be utilized to improve employee satisfaction within the organisation (Rice et al, 1991). Evidence suggest that suggests that training is more likely to have a positive impact on employee satisfaction where the employers develop formal, structured approaches to training that link skill formation to job tenure, career progression, recognition and rewards (Heyes and Stuart, 1994). Therefore, these factors lead to the employee being happy and thus performance better.Level of customers satisfactionThere is a positive relationship between happy employees and satisfied customers. It would seem that if people feel good about their jobs, their happiness would be reflected in the quality of their work and in positive feedback from their customers. People are an integral part of customer relationship management as it is not just abou t technology. However, unless the employee is trained and empowered to manage the customer base within the correct organisational structure there will be an impact on the success of the implementation. Employees need to work at the levels of their abilities and have responsibilities commensurate with these if they are not to feel under-utilized which can lead to dissatisfaction. Staff members who manage customers are usually capable of much more than they are asked to do. That is why policies that empower your staff to manage customers better work so well (Stone et al., 2000).Degree of CoordinationCoordination is a part of all organizations that have a certain degree of specialization or differentiation among their parts, commanding some sort of coordinated effort crossways them. A mechanism of coordination can be considered any administrative tool used for achieving integration among different units within an organization. Coordination as compared with control should be less dire ct and less costly (Cray, 1984). The greater the level of interdependence within the organization, the greater the need for integration. Employees are assessed on the relationship between department and colleagues. family management is very crucial in any orgnisation as it is a social arrangement where all people work together to achieve common goal.Commitment towards the organisationCommitment is a very important concept as it helps to enhance performance of employees. Employees who feel committed to their organisation are more valued and thus perform better. As such investing in people is one important aspect which leads to organisational commitment. Employee may view an effective training experience as an indication that the company is willing to invest in them and cares about them this, training may enhance their commitment to the organization(Tannenbaum et al., 1991)ReferencesStone, M., Woodcock, N. and Mactynger, E. The Black Panther Party Fights for Equality :: Race African American History Essays

The Black Panther Party Fights for Equality The Black Panther Party was born to elevate the political, social, and economic military position of Blacks. The means the Party advocated in their attempt to advance equality were highly unconventional and radical for the time, such as social programs for under privileged communities and arm resistance as a means of self preservation. The Party made numerous contri yetions to Blacks situation as well as their esteem, but fell victim to the system which finds it nearly impossible to allow Blacks entry into the dominant culture. Thus, the rise and fall of a group of Black radicals, as presented by Elaine Brown in A Taste of Power, can be seen to represent the overall plight of the American Black a system which finds it impossible to give away Blacks equality. Nearly all of the problems the Black Panther Party attacked are the direct descendants of the system which enslaved Blacks for hundreds of old age. Although they were given fre edom roughly one hundred years before the arrival of the Party, Blacks await victims of smock racism in much the same way. They are still the target of White violence, regulated to indecent housing, remain highly uneducated and hold the lowest position of the economic ladder. The continuance of these problems has had a nearly catastrophic effect on Blacks and Black families. Brown remembers that she had comprehend of Black men-men who were loving fathers and caring husbands and strong protectors.. but had not known any until she was grown (105). The problems which disproportionatly affect Blacks were combatted by the Party in ways the White system had not. The Party organized rallies around police brutality against Blacks, made speeches and circulated leaflets about every social and political issue affecting Black and misfortunate people, locally, nationally, and internationally, organized support among Whites, opened a free clinic, started a busing-to prisons program which prov ided transport and expenses to Black families (181). The Partys goals were to strengthen Black communities through musical arrangement and education. The dominant culture perceived the Black Panther Party to be a threat, prevented their success whenever possible, and greatly contributed to their ultimate demise. In 1968 FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover title The Black Panther Party is the single greatest threat to the internal security of the United States (156). The Partys founder, Huey Newton, came to represent the symbol of change for Americans, (by) call into question everything scared to the American way of life (237).
